SVP, Strategy (Head of Strategy)

Overview
A growing healthcare communications agency is looking to appoint an SVP, Strategy, a senior leadership role with a mandate to build and lead the strategy function. This is a key hire within the business, responsible for driving strategic excellence across client work while shaping the future of the department.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead the development of brand platforms and core brand strategy across high-science healthcare accounts
• Define and elevate the strategic quality and rigour of all outputs across the agency
• Translate complex scientific data into clear, compelling, and differentiated brand narratives
• Play a central role in new business pitches, leading the strategic approach and contributing to agency growth
• Partner closely with senior clients, providing strategic counsel at a high level
• Build and scale the strategy function, including defining structure, processes, and ways of working
• Operate in a hands-on capacity initially, delivering strategy while the team is being established
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Creative, Account, and Medical teams to ensure strategy underpins all work
• Support engagement and omnichannel strategy where required, ensuring alignment to the core brand platform
Account & Work Scope
• Lead strategy across a flagship global HIV account within a multi-stakeholder environment
• Broader exposure across rare disease, infectious disease, and oncology
• Work across a mix of global and US accounts
• Contribute across multiple brands and projects, rather than being embedded into a single account
