Job Summary
The Network & Monitoring Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization’s network and infrastructure monitoring architecture. This role provides technical leadership across planning, design, and hands-on execution to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing network and monitoring platforms. The position partners closely with infrastructure teams, enterprise architecture, and stakeholders to support current operations and future growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement short- and long-term network and monitoring architecture strategies
- Design, deploy, and maintain network and monitoring platforms to meet performance, capacity, and SLA requirements
- Establish policies, procedures, documentation, and training for network and monitoring resources
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve flexibility, performance, and cost efficiency
- Conduct network performance testing and provide metrics, analysis, and reporting
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams on LAN, WAN, virtual networks, wireless, and cloud environments
- Review network designs, procurement, and outsourcing plans for architectural and standards compliance
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate network products and services
- Support feasibility studies, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding network and monitoring activities
Qualifications
- Four-year degree or diploma in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 12 years of experience in network engineering, architecture, and monitoring operations
- Strong expertise in network design and operations (LAN, WAN, wireless, virtual and cloud networks)
- Experience with Cisco networking technologies and enterprise monitoring platforms
- Proven ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, AWS Networking Specialty) preferred
