About the Position
Qualifications
- Must hold certification as a principal/assistant principal in Massachusetts
- A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience is preferred.
- A Master's Degree with specialization in educational administration or curriculum and supervision is preferred.
- Previous administrative and/or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Other alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent or school committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Reports To: Building Principal
- Supervises: All personnel serving in the assigned school as directed.
- Job Goal: To provide leadership and coordination in developing and implementing school policies and programs that meet students' needs, interests, and abilities.
- Assists in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating both instructional and non-instructional personnel.
- Assists with the orientation and ongoing development of new staff members.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating in-service programs.
- Assists in administering all facets of the school and its education program
- Assists in the implementation of school committee policies and administrative rules/regulations.
- Participates in administrative and other required meetings to facilitate the educational program.
- Assists the principal in identifying school needs regarding personnel, equipment, supplies, and curriculum.
- Assists in the planning, direction, and implementation of all scheduling activities.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the school budget.
- Assists in developing and enforcing rules for students and staff, including discipline, in line with committee policies.
- Supervises instructional staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and student activities.
- Assists with the development, supervision, and evaluation of co-curricular activities.
- Assists in planning and supervising student safety.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of orientation programs for both students and parents.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the principal.
Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
