Podiatrist (DPM) – Part-Time

Location: Riverhead, NY
Schedule: 2–4 Days per Week (Flexible)
Compensation: $125–$150 per Hour

A well-established multi-specialty medical practice in Riverhead, NY is seeking a Part-Time Podiatrist to join our growing team. This position offers a flexible schedule with the opportunity to build a strong patient panel and has the potential to transition into a full-time role as patient volume grows.

We are looking for a provider who is comfortable managing a wide range of podiatric conditions in an outpatient setting and performing common in-office procedures. Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly preferred to better serve our patient population.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions affecting the foot, ankle, and lower extremities.
• Perform comprehensive foot and lower extremity examinations.
• Provide diabetic foot evaluations, preventive foot care, and management of diabetic complications.
• Diagnose and treat foot ulcers, pressure wounds, infections, and other lower extremity skin conditions.
• Perform wound debridement and routine wound management.
• Treat ingrown toenails, fungal nail infections, and other nail disorders.
• Perform nail avulsions, matrixectomies, and routine nail care procedures.
• Remove corns and calluses through debridement and conservative treatment.
• Diagnose and manage plantar fasciitis, heel pain, Achilles tendon disorders, tendonitis, and other musculoskeletal conditions.
• Evaluate and treat bunions, hammertoes, neuromas, flat feet, and other structural deformities.
• Perform corticosteroid and therapeutic injections for pain management.
• Treat sports-related foot and ankle injuries, sprains, and minor fractures.
• Prescribe custom orthotics, braces, walking boots, and other conservative treatment modalities.
• Order and interpret X-rays, laboratory studies, and other diagnostic testing when appropriate.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate referrals for surgical intervention or specialty care when needed.
• Educate patients on diabetic foot care, proper footwear, injury prevention, and long-term management plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in eClinicalWorks (ECW) .
• Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure coordinated patient care.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree.
• Active New York State Podiatry License.
• DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
• Experience in outpatient podiatry preferred.
• Experience treating diabetic foot conditions and performing in-office procedures.
• Strong clinical, procedural, and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills.
• Spanish-speaking strongly preferred.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks (ECW) is a plus.
