Shift: 12-Hour Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Weekend Rotation: Every Other Weekend

About the Role
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a healthcare facility in Illinois to hire an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a contract assignment.
This role supports a Level III, high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit caring for premature and critically ill newborns, including micro-preemies as early as 24 weeks gestation. The RN will provide specialized care to neonates requiring advanced respiratory support, surgical intervention, and intensive monitoring.
This opportunity is ideal for NICU nurses with strong Level III experience who are confident managing high-acuity neonatal patients and thrive in a fast-paced, specialized care environment.
Unit Overview
Unit: Level III NICU
Patient Population:
Micro-preemies (24 weeks gestation and up)
High-acuity neonates
Grower/feeder infants
Neonates requiring respiratory support
Surgical neonatal patients
EMR: EPIC
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU
Monitor and manage premature infants and high-acuity neonatal patients
Administer medications and specialized neonatal treatments
Manage respiratory support including ventilators and oxygen therapy
Provide care for surgical neonatal patients
Support feeding plans for grower/feeder infants
Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams
Educate and support families throughout the NICU stay
Document patient care accurately in EPIC
Required Qualifications
Active Illinois RN license
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
Level III NICU experience required
Experience with high-acuity neonatal patients and micro-preemies
BLS/CPR certification required
NRP certification required
EPIC charting experience required
Strong neonatal assessment and critical thinking skills
Scheduling & Expectations
12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
36 hours per week
Every other weekend rotation
No on-call requirements
Floating required: May float to Elmhurst campus based on census
Additional Information
High-acuity Level III NICU environment
Candidates must be comfortable managing complex neonatal cases and respiratory support
