About the Role
MedOp Solutions is partnering with a high-volume Emergency Department in Arlington Heights, Illinois to hire an experienced Emergency Room Charge Nurse for a 12-week contract assignment.
This leadership-focused role combines advanced emergency nursing skills with charge nurse responsibilities in a fast-paced department that treats an average of 160–180 patients daily. The Charge Nurse will provide clinical leadership, support patient flow, coordinate care delivery, and assist staff in managing a wide range of emergency and trauma-related conditions.

- Serves a diverse patient population, including acute stroke patients, nursing home residents, and critically ill pediatric patients

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Charge Nurse while providing direct patient care as needed
- Coordinate patient flow and support departmental operations
- Lead and support nursing staff during shifts
- Perform rapid patient assessments and emergency interventions
- Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Monitor department throughput and assist with staffing assignments
- Respond to emergencies and support critical care situations
- Maintain compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois RN license
- Minimum 3–5 years of Emergency Department experience required
- Previous Charge Nurse experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- PALS certification required
- CPI certification required
- TNCC certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- ECRN Region 9 certification required
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Experience managing high-acuity emergency patients
