Pharmacy Technician, Prescription Processing

Position Summary:

Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for providing excellent patient experience for our clients by processing patient medication cycles. All Pharmacy Technicians work under the supervision of the pharmacist.

This role is for 8-hour shifts and working hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm. Rotating weekends (1 every 4 weekends) with 8-hour shifts between 8am to 5pm.

This role is Hybrid – 4 days / week in Norwood office, 1-day WFH

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Effectively communicate with patients and care givers.
• Schedules deliveries to ensure synchronization and maintenance of patient therapy.
• Successfully resolve insurance rejections.
• Actively listen to patients to quickly assess problems and use critical thinking skills to determine the best resolution.
• Escalate calls that require consultation with Pharmacists.
• Facilitate requests, authorizations, and communication decisions for pharmacy requests.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Document all call information according to standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

• Must have a current Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license.
• National certification is preferred but can be acquired after hire.
• HS Diploma / GED required. Associate degree is preferred.
• Reliable & customer service oriented.
• Strong computer/ data entry skills.
• Critical thinker, with great organizational skills & time management.
• Retail or LTC pharmacy experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/ English preferred.
• 2-3 years retail of pharmacy experience is strongly preferred.
