Location: Kansas City, MO (Research Hospital Campus area - requires floating to nearby local clinic locations 2-3 times/month)
Pay Rate: $20.00 / hour
Job Type: Full-time, Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
About the Role
A premier specialty medical practice is looking for a professional, reliable, and friendly Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join their team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience while ensuring daily front office operations run smoothly.
This position is primarily based at a medical campus in Kansas City, with flexibility to float 2 to 3 times per month to nearby regional clinic locations (including Independence, Lee's Summit, Shawnee Mission, and Harrisonville).
Key Responsibilities
Patient Reception: Greet patients, handle patient check-in/check-out, and direct incoming calls in a timely, professional manner.
Administrative & Scheduling: Schedule appointments, page physicians for in-patient hospital calls, mail upcoming appointment paperwork, and process End of Day verification.
EHR & Documentation: Update patient demographic information, index documents in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and prepare next-day appointment charts.
Financial & Insurance: Verify insurance coverage, collect copayments and outstanding balances, scan ID/insurance cards, and route insurance changes for timely billing entry.
Provider Support: Manage recall lists for assigned providers and assist team members as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, insurance verification, and copay collection preferred.
Core Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility & Travel: Must have reliable transportation and willingness to float to nearby regional clinic locations 2-3 times per month.
Compliance Note: Position requires completion of background checks and drug screening prior to start. Proof of high school diploma/education required before submission.
