Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) / Clinical Engineer – Imaging
Position Type: Contract (12 week) - potential extensions or conversions
Shift: Full-Time, Day Shift
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced BMET or Clinical Engineer to support the maintenance, repair, and performance of diagnostic imaging equipment. This is a hands-on role focused on troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, hardware repairs, software installation, and vendor coordination to ensure critical imaging systems remain operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of imaging equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, mechanical, and software issues.
- Complete component replacements, including X-ray tubes and related parts.
- Install and re-install imaging system software.
- Support CT scanners, MRI systems, X-ray equipment, and portable imaging devices.
- Coordinate with OEMs and service vendors for escalations, parts, and technical support.
- Document service activities and maintain equipment performance standards.
- Work with clinical teams to minimize downtime and support patient care operations.
Required Qualifications
- Experience repairing and maintaining medical imaging equipment.
- Hands-on support of X-ray, CT, and MRI systems.
- Ability to perform mechanical repairs and component replacements.
- Experience with imaging software installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong vendor coordination and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CBET, CRES, or similar imaging equipment certifications.
- Experience in hospital clinical engineering, OEM field service, or medical device service organizations.
