Job Title: Breakfast Cook, Oasis Restaurant

Reports to: Chef De Cuisine, Oasis Restaurant

Rate: $21-22/hr

Timeframe: Full-time, year-round. Must be available to work, weekends, and Holidays as needed. Schedule needed: 4:30/5:00am – 1:00/2:00pm Tuesdays to Sundays with a scheduled second day off)

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a dependable and skilled Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team at the Oasis Bar & Grill on property. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality breakfast and brunch items in a fast-paced, private club environment, while maintaining exceptional cleanliness, consistency, and member service standards.
  • The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, team oriented, and experienced in breakfast cookery, including eggs, breakfast meats, griddle items, and short-order preparation.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook breakfast menu items to club standards.
  • Execute egg cookery, griddle items, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, pancakes, and daily specials.
  • Must be experienced making eggs to order on an omelet station.
  • Prepare, cook, and set up the breakfast buffet for events or golf outings.
  • Set up and stock breakfast station before service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas.
  • Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
  • Assist with prep work and inventory rotation as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house and culinary team members.
  • Ensure timely ticket execution during busy mornings and golf events.
  • Maintain consistency and presentation standards for all dishes.
  • Assist with lunch transition and additional culinary duties as assigned by the Sous Chef and/or Chef De Cuisine.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Previous breakfast or short-order cooking experience preferred. Previous culinary experience at a private club or hospitality setting preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Culinary degree or certification a plus, but is not required.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude
  • 2 years experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry 
  • Able to read and follow standardized recipes 
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures 
  • Must obtain Food Handler Certificate as required by the state of Illinois 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
