What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Receptionist position at Medici Orthopaedics and Spine?
Metro Atlanta (Kennesaw & Snellville) · Full-Time · On-Site
Medici Orthopaedics & Spine is a physician-led interventional pain management and spine practice serving Metro Atlanta. We provide comprehensive care under one roof — from diagnostic evaluation and physical therapy through interventional procedures, spinal cord stimulation, spine surgery, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
We're hiring a Front Desk Receptionist to be the first face and voice patients encounter when they connect with Medici. You'll greet and check in patients, manage inbound calls, coordinate scheduling, and ensure every visitor has a smooth, welcoming experience from arrival to departure.
What you'll do:
- Greet and check in patients at the front desk — set a warm, professional tone from the moment they arrive
- Answer and route inbound calls from patients, referring offices, and attorney firms — answer questions about services, providers, locations, and what to expect at their first visit
- Schedule and confirm appointments for new and returning patients across both locations
- Collect and verify patient demographics, insurance information, and referral documentation at check-in
- Coordinate with clinical staff to manage patient flow and communicate wait times
- Manage the patient check-out process — collect co-pays, schedule follow-up appointments, and distribute after-visit materials
- Maintain accurate records in the EHR and scheduling system — ensure all intake information is complete and up to date
- Follow up with no-shows and cancellations to reschedule — every missed appointment is a patient who still needs care
What we're looking for:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills — you're warm, professional, and calm in a busy environment. Patients are often in pain or dealing with a stressful situation, and you make them feel welcome
- Organized and detail-oriented — you're managing a busy front desk and nothing falls through the cracks
- Tech-savvy — comfortable learning new software quickly and working across multiple systems (EHR, scheduling, phone systems)
- Patient-focused — you genuinely care about helping people get the care they need
- Strong written and verbal communication — your interactions are clear, professional, and reflect well on the practice
- Reliable, punctual, and self-accountable
Preferred qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in a medical office, healthcare, or customer-facing role
- Familiarity with spine, orthopedic, or pain management care
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems (athenahealth is a plus)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
Compensation
- $18/hour · Full-time
- Health benefits package
