Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations at a 120-bed skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all nursing services, ensuring high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and building a strong, accountable clinical team.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on clinical leader who can drive outcomes, support staff, and maintain excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership
- Oversee all nursing operations, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care
- Monitor clinical outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Lead survey readiness and manage Department of Health inspections
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adherence to standards
Staff Management & Development
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise nursing staff
- Create schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels
- Provide coaching, discipline, and performance management as needed
- Promote staff retention and engagement
Quality Assurance & Risk Management
- Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs
- Monitor infection control, incident reports, and risk management processes
- Implement policies and procedures to improve care outcomes
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and physicians
- Serve as a clinical resource and leader within the facility
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility (DON or Assistant DON preferred)
- Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and survey process
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive clinical excellence
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
