TITLE: Customer Service Representative
HOURS: Part-time, Primarily 2nd shift, Schedule will include weekend and holidays, flexibility is essential
POSITION SUMMARY: The Customer Service Representative/Cashier will assist customers with a friendly attitude and serve our customers in a friendly, efficient manner that promotes a favorable image of the cooperative and serves the needs of the customer. This individual is responsible for providing top-notch customer service, establishing customer relations, stocking, bringing carts in from outside, general cleaning, etc.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Promote a positive culture and ensure positive communication.
- Report to work at the assigned/scheduled time and may be required to fill in as needed in other customer facing roles.
- Greet all customers as they enter the location with a friendly attitude
- Serve our customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
- Assists customers with questions, locating various products, or providing information
- Perform stocking duties.
- Operate a cash register/credit card terminal and accurately count/handle cash related transactions.
- Assist with duties related to opening and closing the store/department for business.
- Process patronage points and explain the program to customers.
- Assist to ensure all products and displays are merchandised effectively.
- Prepare merchandise displays and adjust merchandise seasonally with direction of Store Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Previous experience in retail, preferably in grocery desired but not required.
- Capable of learning and retaining product knowledge and their location in the store.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directions in regard to paperwork and daily reporting
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, management, and vendors
- Organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to lift a minimum of ten (10) pounds frequently and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to lift, twist, bend, stoop, squat, stand, reach, pull, push and lift overhead.
- Must be patient and helpful to exceed the customer's expectations.

- Primarily indoor work but at times may be exposed to heat/cool outdoor temperatures.
- Fast-paced environment requiring standing up to 8 hours per day.
