Summary of Function:
The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative and operational tasks while gaining hands-on experience in human resources within a manufacturing environment. This position provides support in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, documentation, and HR projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Directly reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative and operational tasks while gaining hands-on experience in human resources within a manufacturing environment. This position provides support in areas such as recruiting, onboarding, employee communications, documentation, and HR projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruiting activities including reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating candidate communication
- Support the onboarding process for new employees and temporary employees, including preparing onboarding materials and orientation packets
- Assist with maintaining employee personnel files and ensuring documentation is organized and accurate
- Help prepare employee communications, announcements, and HR-related updates
- Assist with tracking training records and maintaining training documentation
- Support HR with temporary labor reporting and administrative tasks related to staffing agencies
- Assist with preparing reports and maintaining HR data in internal systems and spreadsheets
- Support HR projects related to employee engagement, culture initiatives, and training programs
- Help prepare materials for new hire orientation and other HR presentations
- Assist with organizing HR documents, policies, and forms
- Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed
- Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as assigned
Directly reports to the Human Resources Manager.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Friendly, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Interest in learning about HR processes in a manufacturing environment
