Accounts Receivable

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join our team at MEC Underground Solutions. MEC is a family owned and operated business that is leading Michigan in high quality, trench-less pipe repair. This position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, monthly reconciliations and supporting the month-end close process.

Key Responsibilities

• Generating, sending and tracking customer invoices.
• Perform data entry with high accuracy, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
• Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up with customers through effective phone etiquette to ensure timely payments.
• Processing incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) and posting receipts accurately.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all debits & credits are accurately recorded.
• Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
• Generate detailed reports on receivables status, aging analysis, and cash flow forecasts for management review.
• Maintain thorough documentation of all transactions, adhering to governmental accounting regulations and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Proven experience in accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries and account analysis
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail for account reconciliation and data entry tasks.
• Effective negotiation skills paired with professional phone etiquette for collections calls and customer service interactions.
• Ability to handle high-volume data entry tasks while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
• Knowledge in construction or excavation field is helpful.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
