Job description: Accounts Receivable
Reports To: Accounting Manager
Role (high level description of your primary role in the company):
Manage invoices, track project payments, maintain scrap logs, and follow up on outstanding balances for a large specialty contractor (demolition). This role works closely with project managers and clients to ensure timely billing and accurate records.
Responsibilities (primary work activities you are personally responsible to perform):
- Prepare and send project invoices and progress billings
- Track customer payments and outstanding balances
- Follow up on overdue invoices and lien waiver requirements
- Resolve billing discrepancies with clients and general contractors; work with project managers to verify billing details
- Maintain accurate accounts receivable records, including but not limited to recording and reconciling cash receipts
- Reconcile, maintain, and update scrap logs on a monthly or as-needed basis
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Set up new projects in internal systems and track equipment and other job costs
- Assist with monthly financial reporting
- Collaborate with the Accounting, Estimating, Marketing, and Operation Departments
- Understand subcontractor contracts, retention, draw schedules, and lien waivers
- Additional Duties: Assist with answering and directing incoming calls, provide general administrative support as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction accounting or accounts receivable position (construction experience and job costing preferred)
- Proficiency in accounting, finance, and/or data analysis software; experience with Foundation, Textura, and AIA billing preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective collaboration and communication
Other Information:
Work location is in-person at corporate office, Monday through Friday. Full time, standard business hours.
