This role will oversee the strategic direction, technical delivery, and operational performance of electrical engineering services, ensuring world-class power distribution, resiliency, and safety in all projects.

The Electrical Director will provide leadership over electrical design operations, manage technical teams, and uphold the highest standards of quality, compliance, and innovation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electrical systems for data centers and other mission-critical environments, coupled with strong leadership skills to mentor teams, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver trusted solutions for clients.

Job Duties

  • Set the vision, standards, and priorities for electrical engineering services across a growing portfolio of mission-critical projects.

  • Manage engineering teams, project managers, and designers to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems on time and within budget.

  • Provide high-level review and approval of electrical designs, calculations, and specifications for power distribution, UPS, switchgear, generators, medium-voltage systems, and controls integration.

  • Establish and enforce design standards, QA/QC protocols, and technical guidelines for all electrical deliverables.

  • Partner with internal disciplines and external partners to ensure electrical infrastructure strategies align with overall project goals.

  • Act as the executive-level point of contact for electrical scope, building trusted relationships with clients, contractors, and facility owners.

  • Mentor and grow a team of electrical engineers and designers, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.

  • Track and report performance metrics across design quality, timeliness, budgets, and client satisfaction.

  • Drive adoption of emerging technologies, resilient electrical solutions, and sustainability practices for mission-critical infrastructure.

  • Maintain adherence to industry codes, standards, and safety protocols, including NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and client-specific requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred.

  • 12 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with significant exposure to mission-critical, data center, or large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • 5 years in a leadership role with direct responsibility for teams, budgets, and strategic operations.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.

  • Expertise in electrical power distribution systems, UPS, generators, medium-voltage gear, switchgear, grounding, and control systems.

  • Strong background in electrical system studies (short circuit, arc flash, coordination).

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams in complex project environments.

  • Proven ability to communicate clearly, influence stakeholders, and represent the electrical discipline at the executive level.

  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite; working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, and electrical design software required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering electrical systems for hyperscale data centers or global technology clients.

  • Familiarity with sustainable power design, renewable energy integration, or energy efficiency strategies.

  • Experience managing multi-region or large-scale electrical engineering programs.

  • Knowledge of construction delivery methods (Design-Build, IPD, etc.) and how electrical scope integrates across phases.

  • Proven success implementing process improvements or technology adoption in electrical design workflows.

  • Benefits

All full-time employees receive a comprehensive benefit package that includes, but is not limited to, medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% of medical premiums covered by the employer, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, a 401(k), vacation time, paid holidays off, and yearly performance-based bonus eligibility.
