Project Assistant — Residential Department (Part-Time)
20–30 hours per week
McLeod Construction, a high-volume Seattle-based General Contractor, is seeking a Project Assistant to support our Residential Department. We specialize in serving homeowner associations throughout the Puget Sound region, with work that includes condominium remediation, building envelope repair and replacement, emergency water mitigation, and insurance restoration projects.
This is a dynamic, fast-paced role ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys keeping projects moving smoothly. The Project Assistant supports both management and field staff, with a primary focus on scheduling, coordination, and communication. The ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines is essential to success in this role.
Construction process knowledge is required.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain and update the weekly construction schedule to ensure field staff have accurate, up-to-date project information
- Communicate with clients, homeowners, and tenants regarding schedules, access, and logistics
- Manage incoming bid requests from multiple sources and assign them to appropriate project management staff
- Assist project managers with ordering materials and equipment as needed
- Serve as a point of contact for field staff regarding schedules, site access, and daily logistics
- Maintain a working knowledge of company tools, materials, and active projects
- Participate in an on-call phone rotation for one week approximately twice per year
Qualifications & Skills
- Familiarity with construction terminology, processes, and jobsite coordination
- Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to track 10–20 projects at various stages
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Proactive and solutions-oriented with a willingness to step in where needed
- Quick learner who asks questions and takes ownership of their work
- Professional, accountable, and collaborative team player
