MCL Construction — a 37 year commercial general contractor based in Omaha, NE — is looking for a seasoned recruiter with deep construction industry expertise to lead specialized hiring across operations and field leadership roles. You’ll design and drive recruiting efforts that attract top construction talent, develop community and industry partnerships, and help shape how MCL builds its teams for the long term.
Your Day-to-Day
BUILD RELATIONSHIPS & RECRUITING PIPELINE
· Develop strategy and manage relationships with industry organizations and community partners for sourcing, exposure, and collaboration.
· Build and maintain a deep pipeline of qualified candidates for operations and field leadership roles — before requisitions open.
· Collaborate with hiring managers and executives to identify needs, develop job descriptions, and determine sourcing strategies.
· Partner with the internal HR team and provide guidance and support to the Talent Acquisition Specialist.
· Manage candidate relationships to enhance the candidate experience and strengthen the MCL employer brand.
OWN THE RECRUITING PROCESS
· Lead full-cycle recruiting for specialized construction roles including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Preconstruction.
· Source passive candidates through construction-specific channels, industry networks, and trade associations.
· Refine and facilitate all phases of the recruitment process — screening, interviewing, offers, and onboarding coordination.
· Create efficiencies within the recruiting process and build a dashboard of tracking metrics.
· Oversee UKG ATS, maintain data integrity, and track KPIs that drive quality outcomes.
· Train hiring managers on process expectations and hold stakeholders accountable.
STRENGTHEN THE MCL BRAND
· Create compelling job descriptions with hiring partners to attract the right candidates.
· Seek social media and alternative strategies to expand sourcing reach.
· Build MCL’s employer brand presence across key platforms and at industry events.
The Right Fit
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
· Five or more years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong focus on construction, engineering, or the skilled trades.
· Demonstrated experience hiring for construction leadership roles — Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and Preconstruction professionals.
· Deep understanding of the construction talent market: how candidates think, what they value, and where to find them.
· Educational background in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business, or a related field; an acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Experience with UKG or other applicant tracking systems; strong command of recruiting metrics and reporting.
· Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and online recruiting tools including LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed.
· Knowledge of relevant employment laws and compliance requirements.
· Employer branding experience across job fairs, company events, and social media.
