Responsibilities- Direct daily operations and lead hourly production teams to achieve safety, quality, and production targets on a 12-hour rotating shift
- Ensure adherence to environmental health and safety practices, policies, and accident prevention programs
- Promote a strong safety culture by engaging in safety discussions and serving as a safety leader and advocate
- Coordinate with other shift supervisors to maintain continuous 24/7 operations
- Monitor process flows and mechanical equipment, troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime
- Communicate effectively between shifts and with maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations
- Collaborate with supervisors and staff on maintenance and production scheduling
- Utilize analytical skills to resolve operational issues promptly
- Understand and enforce the rules and guidelines of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
- Counsel and coach hourly workforce members to support their development
- Assign and direct work to meet production schedules and maintain quality standards
- Write and follow up on work orders to ensure completion
- Conduct new hire evaluations and provide feedback
- Accurately report safety, quality, and operational issues for effective follow-up
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management
- 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a paper mill
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with SAP, ParcView, Pi, or Panther is a plus
- Ability to walk, climb, and work in a noisy, hot, and humid industrial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a manufacturing-related field is a plus, but not required
