McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency providing compassionate, high-quality care to clients in their homes throughout Lee and Collier County. We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead and support clinical operations for our Bonita Springs office.
This role is ideal for a nurse leader who values relationship-based care, strong communication, quality oversight, compliance, and a supportive team environment.
Position Overview
The Director of Nursing oversees clinical care delivery, supports nursing and caregiving staff, ensures compliance with agency policies and regulatory standards, and helps maintain the highest level of client care and safety. This position works closely with office leadership, clients, families, caregivers, nurses, and physicians to ensure care is coordinated, consistent, and client-focused.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, supervision, and clinical guidance to nursing and caregiving staff.
Oversee client assessments, reassessments, care plan development, and care plan updates.
Ensure client care is delivered according to individualized care plans and agency standards.
Monitor quality of care and address concerns or opportunities for improvement.
Support hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback for clinical staff.
Complete or oversee supervisory visits, field visits, and clinical documentation reviews.
Communicate professionally with clients, families, physicians, caregivers, nurses, and office staff.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to agency protocols.
Support compliance with Florida home care regulations, AHCA requirements, agency policies, and documentation standards.
Participate in quality assurance, chart audits, incident review, and compliance readiness.
Assist with care coordination, client concerns, caregiver support, and clinical problem-solving.
Participate in rotating nurse on-call support for clinical concerns as needed.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory, leadership, or clinical management experience preferred.
Private-duty home care, home health, hospice, assisted living, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
Strong understanding of care planning, client assessments, documentation standards, and home care regulations.
Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
WellSky experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for field visits.
Current CPR certification, TB screening, and Level 2 AHCA background screening, or willingness to complete.
Schedule
Full-time position based out of the Bonita Springs office. Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM. Rotating nurse on-call support required. On-call rotation is paid as a separate incentive.
