Billing and Invoicing Specialist (part-time)

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Billing and Invoicing Specialist to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate and timely billing for our clients, supporting smooth project delivery, and maintaining McKenna’s reputation for excellence. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Billing & Reconciliation
· Prepare, process, and send invoices to clients using Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
· Review and resolve billing discrepancies by coordinating with clients and internal departments.
Accounts Receivable
· Track and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely payments.
· Follow up on overdue invoices in a courteous, professional manner by phone or email.
Administrative Support
· Perform data entry and general administrative tasks to assist the finance department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS Required
· 3 years of billing experience.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
· Experience with accounts payable or general accounting.
· Experience using Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint.
· Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
HOURS AND COMPENSATION
· Part-time role (less than 30 hours per week).
· Workload peaks at the beginning of the month, with lighter hours toward month- end.
· Flexible schedule and remote work options available.
· Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience.
· Benefits include:
Flexible scheduling, remote work may be an option, but onsite training and monthly attendance at meetings will be required. Candidate must live within driving distance to Northville office.
