Job Description:

Position: Pigeon Lab Technician

Effective Date: 04/08/2026

Reports to: Professor of Psychology

Department: Psychology

Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Location of Position: Merritt Hall, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157

Duration of Appointment: 05/27/2026 - 08/14/2026

Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor

Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Scope: Provide support to the Pigeon Laboratory. This Summer position requires weekend work, as well as availability during weekdays upon request.

Responsibilities:

• Feeding and caring for pigeons.
• Cleaning pigeon cages and work areas.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Must be EXTREMELY responsible
• Enjoy working with animals
• Be willing and available to work over school breaks and during holiday periods. This position may be eligible to extend to the Academic Year.
