Job Description:

Job Title: Equipment Room- Window Attendant/ Laundry Specialist

Effective Date: 02/23/2026

Reports to: Equipment & Event Operations Manager

Department: Athletics

Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage

FSLA Status: Non-Exempt

Location of Position: Gill Center, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD 21157

Duration of Appointment: August 5, 2026 to May 25, 2027

Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor

Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.

Scope: Provide laundry services and equipment management for 25 varsity athletic teams.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor window and assist with receptionist duties, including phone coverage, data entry, and filing
• Greet and assist student-athletes at window
• Assist with inventory and storage of athletic uniforms and equipment
• Assist with preparation of laundry including loading and unloading industrial washers and dryers
• Maintain the cleanliness of equipment room
• Assist with equipment set up for sporting events

Schedule:

• 4-10 hours a week, M-Su
• Must have availability between 8-11am and 3:30-9:00pm
• Preference given to students available between the hours of 4-9pm.

Requirements:

• Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Ability to accurately assess and handle phone calls, student-athlete and coaches requests, etc., with discretion and a positive attitude
• Discretion and reliability in sensitive and confidential matters are vital

Physical Characteristics:

This position requires standing for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when working with laundry. This position does have some lifting involved but not more than 30 pounds at a time. The overall setting of the job is in an area conducive to a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
