Senior Paralegal, Legal Operations & Technology (10+ yrs) – In-House

About the Position:

Our client, a nationally recognized engineering and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Paralegal to join its in-house legal team in Chicago. This is a unique hybrid role combining traditional paralegal responsibilities with a strong focus on legal operations and technology implementation.

The position offers significant visibility across the organization and the person in this role will play a critical part in driving operational efficiency, while also supporting day-to-day legal needs across a variety of practice areas.

Responsibilities:

· Provide support across multiple legal areas, including contracts, insurance claims, litigation, employment, and corporate compliance

· Support contract lifecycle management, including drafting, reviewing, and organizing a range of commercial agreements

· Lead the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing management of a matter management system (MMS), including workflow design, user administration, and reporting

· Drive legal operations initiatives, including process improvements, workflow optimization, and tracking key legal metrics

· Manage legal services requests, including intake, tracking, document organization, and deadline monitoring

· Maintain and organize legal documentation, systems, and files

· Assist with administrative and operational support (invoice review, budgeting coordination, and legal team logistics)

· Develop and deliver trainings on legal systems and processes across the legal team and broader organization

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required; Paralegal Certificate preferred

· 10 years of paralegal experience (in-house background preferred)

· Demonstrated experience supporting legal operations and/or legal technology initiatives

· Experience implementing or managing a contract management system, matter management system, or similar legal technology

· Strong background in contract support and legal document management

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems

Location:

Chicago, IL (Hybrid, 2-3 days in office)

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience.
