About the Position:

Our client, a dynamic Chicago-based professional liability company, is seeking a large law firm attorney with a litigation or transactional background for a unique role. Experience with the insurance industry or insurance coverage is strongly preferred. This opportunity blends business development and retention, client service and relations, underwriting, and internal legal and compliance matters.

Local/Illinois attorneys please; no relocates.

Responsibilities:

· Support underwriting for new business and renewals across LPL, MLI, and EPLI, including application review, analysis, and coverage recommendations

· Guide firms through application and renewal processes and respond to coverage-related inquiries

· Coordinate policy binding, issuance, endorsements, and invoicing with internal teams and external partners

· Underwrite coverage changes, including limits, retention, ancillary services, mergers, and lateral hires

· Assist with reporting, audits, and data analysis, including preparation and validation of underwriting materials

· Contribute to underwriting operations, including system enhancements, process improvements, and documentation

· Travel (a few days per month) required

Required Qualifications:

· 10-15 years of litigation or transactional experience

· Large law firm partner preferred

· Excellent client relations and communication skills and the desire for a strong client-facing position

Compensation:

The anticipated salary for this position is $325,000.
