Job Title: Estimating Coordinator
Reports To: Engineering Development Manager; dotted line to Director of Sales and Business Development
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

The Estimating Coordinator provides essential administrative and technical support to the Estimating team by preparing estimates, setting up bills of materials (BOMs) and routers, managing customer documentation, coordinating outside service costs, and ensuring accuracy of BOM’s and routers. This role works closely with Estimating to provide job costs in a prompt timeframe, as well as Drafting, Quality, Purchasing, and Shop Leadership to ensure jobs enter the process accurately from the start. This is an administrative support role but requires strong manufacturing knowledge and understanding of how parts are made.

Position Responsibilities
- Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routers in Paperless Parts
- Review, approve and update BOMs and Routers within Global Shop
- Coordinate outside service pricing including galvanizing, machining, and subcontracted processes
- Manage customer documentation including prints, models, purchase orders, and specifications
- Support the estimating team by reviewing and/or preparing quotes and gathering required information
- Prepare technical handoff information to Drafters and Shop Leadership for accurate production flow
- Track job movement through the system and communicate status updates as needed
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities to streamline workflow
- May prepare work order packets for C-process jobs
- Other duties as assigned
- Strong understanding of how parts are made, including fabrication processes and materials.
- Experience with Paperless Parts, Global Shop, or AutoCAD preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings (prints).
- Highly organized with strong documentation and follow-through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across functions effectively
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior industrial, shop, or manufacturing experience required.
