What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Estimator position at McCarl's Technical Services?
General Purpose::
Responsible for creating takeoffs and estimates for the project estimates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities::
- Perform basic takeoffs.
- Perform strip of project in order to determine quantities of material required.
- Make a Conduit and Cable Schedule if one is not provided.
Labor material strip using NECA units, etc. for the estimate.
Effectively communicate and project the principles of "The McCarl Way".
Perform other duties as assigned by Estimating Manager and Director of Preconstruction.
- Utilize Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, Accubid Anywhere, and MS Office Suite.
- Assist in assembly of IFC changes, if assistance is needed.
- Create a Proposal Letter including the Scope Of Work, Clarifications and Exclusions.
Qualifications: :
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Ability to interpret single lines and P&ID's.
Knowledge of electrical terminology.
Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to produce neat and accurate work product.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with all levels in the company.
- Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Navisworks, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Salary : $60,000 - $90,000
