Job Duties
- Purchase commodities and services to meet specialized or complex needs with a strong emphasis on steel and electrical components
- Analyze purchase requisitions and review acknowledgments for accuracy and completion
- Collaborate with department managers to clarify purchase requisitions, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders
- Follow proper channels to obtain purchase authorization according to company policy
- Investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products
- Research and prepare bid specifications to present to several suppliers.
- Represent the crane supply chain team in our daily Gemba walks and follow up on issues identified.
- Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date
- Explain and clarify purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as vendors
- Determine the correct method to process purchase requisitions depending on total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and existing contracts
- Place orders to procure requisitioned items or services and follow up consistently to insure timelines are met.
- Process purchasing transactions according to local, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
Education

Experience & Skills
- 3 years of planning, production and materials management experience or equivalent in an MRP environment.
- Requires solid written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Strong analytical, conceptual and planning skills are required
- Experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies
- Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
- Advanced Excel abilities a plus
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
- Collaborate effectively with others in a team environment
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
