Brief Description

The Web Developer / App Designer is responsible for coordinating and executing New Tech Machinery and Sheffield Metals web and app development initiatives and experiences to drive awareness, new customer acquisition, engagement, and revenue. This role requires a blend of technical skills in coding, design, and user experience to ensure both platforms are visually appealing, user-friendly, and functional. This well-rounded and digital-savvy professional will lead the day-to-day execution of the website strategies for multiple Mazzella Companies’ Metals Business websites, aligned to the broader strategies and objectives of the company. This position reports to the Corporate Brand Manager.

Requirements

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute web development initiatives and launch activities for all Mazzella Metals Business websites.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain WordPress sites, including custom theme development, content management, and custom Gutenberg block creation.
  • Ensure proper security is in place across all web properties.
  • Improve user experience and interaction (UX/UI) on internal and external platforms.
  • Assist with mobile application development using cross-platform frameworks or native development.
  • Create visual mockups and wireframes for web and mobile features.
  • Conduct usability testing and user research to inform design improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage online brand presence, content, navigation, promotions, and architecture.
  • Monitor and report on website performance using tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, and HubSpot.
  • Recommend new and emerging web technologies to improve site performance and user experience.
  • Meet with internal clients to define requirements and deadlines for web projects.
  • Create front-end user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP to connect with back-end systems and databases.
  • Partner with the IT team to integrate all web domains into Mazzella's digital ecosystem.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to web platforms.
  • Maintain product descriptions, images, banners, and related content.
  • Ensure all web properties are developed and maintained in accordance with best practices and ADA compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area; follow all safety guidelines.
  • Commit to lifelong learning by completing assigned training and pursuing personal development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Required

Experience & Skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in web and mobile application development
  • Proficiency in WordPress development, including custom themes
  • Strong knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with Git or other version control systems
  • Understanding of MySQL or MariaDB databases
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services integration
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify

Preferred

  • Experience with native mobile development (iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin) or cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Ionic, Flutter)
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js, Angular, Vue.js)
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (BigCommerce, Shopify)
  • Experience in wireframing, prototyping, and mockup design
  • Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles
