Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of pizzas according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, and slicing tools efficiently and safely
- Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and hygienic workspace at all times
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new pizza ideas and seasonal specials
- Handle food production tasks including dough preparation, topping assembly, baking, and finishing touches
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to maintain quality and safety standards
- Support the team in food service operations during busy periods, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
Experience
- Previous experience working as a pizza cook or in a similar food preparation role within a restaurant or catering environment
- Strong knowledge of food industry standards including food safety management and sanitizing procedures
- Proven skills in food handling, cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and knife skills
- Experience with high-volume production environments where efficiency and consistency are key
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Background in dietary aide or dietary department experience is a plus for understanding special dietary needs
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to menu specifications
