We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Front Office Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will excel in patient service, office management, and administrative support within a busy dental clinic setting. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, effective communication, and an outstanding patient experience.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verifications, and facilitate billing procedures using systems such as Dentrix.
- Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software and coordinate patient flow throughout the day.
- Maintain comprehensive medical and dental records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and proper documentation review.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, addressing patient inquiries promptly and courteously.
- Assist with medical collection processes, including billing for Medicare and other insurance providers while ensuring accurate CPT coding and ICD coding.
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Athenahealth.
- Ensure the confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all health information management standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in medical or dental front office administration with strong clerical skills.
- Proficiency in Dentrix, familiarity with EHR systems is essential.
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing speed of at least 10 key digits per minute is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor and effective phone etiquette.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations; clinic or hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with insurance verification processes, health information management practices, and office management procedures within a dental or medical setting.
