Job Description:
Job Title: Thermal PD
Job Type: Fulltime
Job Location: Cupertino, CA
Work Schedule: Onsite
Salary: 150k to 160k, Based on experience
We are looking for an experienced engineer to join its talented and growing Thermal Products team. This person will focus on thermal components and modules such as vapor chambers and heat pipes, etc. Will support development of company expertise and capabilities by driving product development, driving tool development, and building databases and work flows. They will be a show case for company expertise and a technical leader working closely with US customers and China engineering/management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize thermal management systems and components, perform thermal analysis, and conduct simulations using software like CFD or FEA.
- Design and lead thermal testing, analyze experimental results, and ensure the product meets performance requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, design proposals, and reports.
- Lead the resolution of complex design issues and troubleshoot problems to optimize thermal performance.
- Stay updated on new thermal management technologies and research.
- Technical interface for customer team in Cupertino; present technical documents and discuss design solutions.
- Identify and communicate effectively with key stakeholders including the factory engineering/manufacturing teams and our customers to share priorities and goals.
- Be available as needed to assist customers and colleagues even outside of normal business hours.
- Approximately 15% international travel primarily to Asia to assist with customer visits/build activities.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering degree and 3 years work experience in a technical setting.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.
- Experience in designing thermal systems and components.
- Experience performing multi-phase thermal simulations.
- Proficiency with thermal simulation software (e.g. Comsol, Fluent, Icepak ) and analysis tools.
- Strong root cause analysis, deductive reasoning, and FMEA skills pertaining to thermal component and systems.
- Familiar with data analyses and correlation studies as it relates to part tolerances, assembly process, and product performance.
- Comfortable with standard productivity and communication tools such as Microsoft Powerpoint and Excel; familiarity with MacOS desired.
- Very well organized, both in the digital world and the real world.
- Fluent in English speaking and writing. Comfortable in communicating with all levels of employees and management.
