About the Role
As an Industrial Robotics Maintenance Technician, you will serve as a critical technical expert responsible for the uptime and performance of complex automated storage, retrieval, and robotic transport systems. You will leverage your expertise in PLC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical repair to ensure seamless facility operations and high-throughput efficiency.
Responsibilities- Maximize system throughput by proactively calibrating, repairing, and optimizing robotic vehicles, automated lifts, and storage adapters.
- Execute advanced troubleshooting on electro-mechanical systems using schematics, wiring diagrams, and precision diagnostic tools to minimize downtime.
- Document all maintenance activities, parts usage, and labor hours accurately within the CMMS to maintain high equipment reliability standards.
- Perform complex robotic arm setups, tool changes, and sensor alignments to ensure consistent operational precision.
- Communicate technical status updates and estimated repair timelines to stakeholders to facilitate effective production planning.
- Conduct routine system inspections and 5S audits to ensure a safe, clean, and highly organized work environment.
- Perform minor fabrication tasks, including machining, cutting, and structural modifications, to support system integrity.
- Support recovery operations for robotic units, often navigating restrictive environments to restore system functionality.
Required Skills
- 3 years of hands-on experience maintaining mechanical automation or robotics systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and interpreting complex electro-mechanical diagrams.
- Ability to work independently while strictly adhering to safety protocols, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) and fall protection.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 45 feet, and maneuver within confined spaces.
Preferred Skills
- Associate degree or technical certification in electronics, mechatronics, or industrial automation.
- Prior experience operating and maintaining large-scale Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS).
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to changing operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
