About the Role
As an Industrial Automation Specialist, you will ensure the peak reliability of complex control systems and automated machinery across our production facility. You will act as a key technical resource, driving system improvements and performing advanced diagnostics to optimize manufacturing throughput and equipment uptime.
Responsibilities- Lead efforts to maintain a safe work environment by proactively identifying hazards and participating in root cause analysis for all incidents.
- Execute precise calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of PLCs, HMIs, and motor drive systems, with a focus on Allen Bradley and secondary platforms.
- Interpret and modify complex electrical schematics, ladder logic, and wiring diagrams to support equipment modifications.
- Provide high-level technical mentorship to the maintenance team and facilitate training on new automation technologies.
- Oversee external contractors to ensure project timelines are met and production downtime is minimized.
- Manage technical documentation, including as-built drawings and engineering manuals, to ensure accurate records of system changes.
- Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to resolve recurring mechanical and electronic issues.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent with completed apprenticeship or specialized technical training.
- Minimum of five years of experience in industrial maintenance with a heavy emphasis on automation and controls.
- Solid understanding of NEC standards, OSHA electrical safety, and electromechanical circuitry.
- Proficiency in reading technical schematics and utilizing CAD software for documentation.
Preferred Skills
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology or a related maintenance field.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise maintenance management software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and make critical decisions under tight production deadlines.
