Field Service Specialist - VFD Systems

We are seeking a dedicated Field Technician to specialize in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) within commercial HVAC environments. You will play a critical role in optimizing motor performance for pumps and fans, ensuring operational efficiency across diverse commercial and institutional facilities.

• Execute end-to-end installation, startup, and diagnostic troubleshooting of VFD systems.
• Ensure peak system performance by performing precise electrical measurements using multi-meters, amp clamps, and harmonic analyzers.
• Manage complex wiring and conduit installations to meet rigorous safety and quality standards.
• Drive operational reliability by providing expert field service and technical support to clients on-site.
• Interpret intricate electrical schematics and control circuitry to resolve system failures efficiently.
• Maintain detailed service logs and technical documentation to track equipment health and performance outcomes.

Required Skills

• 3 years of hands-on experience working with VFDs in a field service capacity.
• Solid understanding of electrical theory, including high-voltage AC and low-voltage DC control systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC electrical schematics and control loops.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and communication.

Preferred Skills

• Direct experience with VFD applications for Air Handling Units (AHUs), cooling towers, and pump systems.
• Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) integration.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
