About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our mechanical engineering team, focusing on the innovation and production of advanced automation systems. In this hands-on leadership role, you will drive projects from initial concept through to successful commissioning, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in 3D CAD software and mechanical design principles will be crucial in overseeing the entire product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative environment focused on accountability and continuous professional development.
- Oversee the mechanical design process, from initial requirements gathering to detailed engineering and manufacturing support, ensuring technical excellence.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to align with company objectives and customer expectations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Review and approve engineering documents, including drawings and Bills of Materials, to ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, controls, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless product integration and resolve any technical issues.
- Support manufacturing engineers in the development of assembly procedures and testing processes, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of production.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs, leveraging lean manufacturing principles.
- Work with suppliers on component sourcing and design feasibility, participating in customer meetings and machine acceptance testing to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in machine design or industrial equipment engineering.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including structural integrity and fluid dynamics.
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- Experience with custom/build-to-order machinery or automation systems.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with CNC machining, automation systems, and industrial safety standards.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and managing engineering change processes.
