Core Duties
- Develop and modify CNC code for 3, 4, and 5-axis machining equipment.
- Design comprehensive machining workflows, tool paths, and setup guides for intricate parts to ensure production success.
- Analyze engineering blueprints, CAD files, and GD&T specifications to ensure precise manufacturing.
- Determine the most effective tooling, feed rates, spindle speeds, and overall machining methodologies.
- Assist shop floor personnel with machine configuration, initial testing, and ongoing manufacturing cycles.
- Resolve technical challenges related to programming, machining, or part quality as they occur.
- Refine current programming to boost production efficiency, reduce cycle times, and enhance part quality.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering departments to facilitate new product introductions and refine operational processes.
- Guarantee that all generated programs adhere strictly to safety, quality, and production standards.
- Keep digital program libraries, tooling inventories, and process logs orderly and up-to-date.
- Minimum of 3 years working as a CNC programmer within a production setting.
- Practical expertise in programming multi-axis simultaneous 5-axis machining platforms.
- Skilled in utilizing CAM platforms like Mastercam, NX, Fusion 360, Tebis, or HyperMill.
- Capable of interpreting complex technical drawings, 3D models, and GD&T requirements.
- Deep knowledge of workholding techniques, cutting tool selection, and optimal machining parameters.
- Background in configuring machines, validating programs, and refining manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of common CNC control interfaces such as Siemens, Fanuc, or Heidenhain.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.
- Background in high-precision sectors like aerospace, automotive, medical, or defense.
- Familiarity with CMM inspection tools, probing systems, and automated workflows.
- Experience assisting with the integration of new machinery and the development of new processes.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and ongoing improvement strategies.
