Art Director, Live Action & Brand Video – Visuals Studio – Services
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Art Director to shape and lead video creative from concept through final delivery. In this role, you will develop original live action, short-form, documentary-influenced, and social-native content while collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external production partners to create emotionally resonant storytelling.
This position requires a highly collaborative self-starter who can independently manage multiple workstreams, lead conceptual development, and execute against a wide range of creative and strategic briefs. You’ll partner closely with producers and cross-functional teams to concept, develop, and deliver editorial video that captures authentic stories, human behavior, and emotion.
A key aspect of this role is translating creative vision into production reality — communicating clearly with vendors, directors, and partners while maintaining creative integrity throughout production and post.

Key Qualifications
- 10 years of creative experience, ideally within top design, advertising, or production companies
- Strong portfolio demonstrating range across live action formats, including documentary-influenced storytelling, social-native content, and brand campaigns
- Experience collaborating on animation and mixed-media projects
- Ability to translate business objectives into scalable creative frameworks across multiple lines of business
- Proven ability to develop original concepts end-to-end — from strategic brief through treatment, scripting, on-set direction, and final cut
- Strong writing skills across formats, including shot scripts and conversational frameworks for documentary and interview-driven work
- Exceptional visual judgment with the ability to art direct shoots, including casting, location selection, cinematography, lighting, and visual treatment
- Strong communication skills with experience serving as the creative lead across vendors, directors, and production companies
- Comfortable operating between creative strategy, conceptual thinking, format development, and execution
- Thrives in ambiguous environments and proactively seeks clarity, stakeholder alignment, and manages upward effectively
- Strong awareness of visual and cultural trends across entertainment, gaming, and digital culture
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects across time zones
- Refined visual taste and a strong creative point of view that informs every stage of the creative process
- 3-month hybrid contract
- Location: Cupertino, CA
- Pay Rate: $147.45/hour
