Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Maintenance employee to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for both employees and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in designated areas.
- Maintain floors through buffing, waxing, and polishing to ensure they are in excellent condition.
- Handle janitorial duties such as restocking supplies, emptying trash bins, and sanitizing restrooms.
- Assist with facilities maintenance tasks as needed, ensuring all areas are safe and well-kept.
- Respond to immediate cleaning needs (spills, accidents, etc.) in a timely manner
- Conduct inspections of the premises to identify areas that require attention or repairs.
- Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and special projects.
- Provide porter services by assisting with the movement of furniture or equipment as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning, janitorial, or custodial roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques including buffing and polishing is essential.
- Experience in commercial cleaning environments is a plus; residential painting experience is also beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning practices and facilities maintenance is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
