About the Role
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Director of Business Development to join our team in the Nashville Area. This is a full-time outside sales position focused on growing business within a 75-mile radius of Nashville, TN Area. Target markets include Corporate Office (multi-tenant), Industrial/Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Education (K-12 through university).
Core Responsibilities
- Drive new business through prospecting, qualifying, and closing long-cycle sales with C-level decision-makers.
- Collaborate with operations to align contract terms and customer expectations.
- Attend in person industry events, trade shows (ability to set up and take down), and networking functions to increase brand awareness and lead generation.
- Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan to support sales goals.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sales activity and metrics.
- Foster a professional, ethical image of the company in the market.
What We're Looking For – Must Haves
- 3 years of direct B2B sales experience
- Experience with complex solution sales and long sales cycles
- Proven ability to meet sales targets and operate under accountability.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
- Skilled in overcoming objections and building trust-based client relationships.
- Self-motivated, goal-driven, and results-oriented
- Comfortable with cold calling and territory management
- Tech proficiency in Salesforce, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organization and time management
- High integrity, responsibility, and adaptability
Preferred Qualifications
- Success in prospecting and qualifying leads
- Effective networking and referral-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong negotiation and closing abilities.
- Professionalism in managing gatekeepers and securing meetings with decision-makers.
