Part-time Janitor

Pay: $18.00 / hour

Location: Chicago, IL (near Midway Airport) — on-site

Schedule: Part-time, Monday / Wednesday / Friday, 8 hours per day (24 hrs/week)

We're a fine jewelry manufacturer looking for a reliable, detail-oriented janitor to keep our Chicago facility clean, safe, and presentable. You'll take ownership of the daily upkeep of our shop floor, offices, restrooms, and common areas, and help keep our exterior tidy and safe year-round — including snow and ice removal in the winter.

This is a steady, long-term position. We want someone who takes pride in their work and can be trusted in a facility that handles valuable materials.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, kitchens, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum shop floors, offices, and hallways
• Empty trash and recycling; replace liners
• Wipe down desks, counters, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces
• Restock paper products, soap, and other supplies
• Dust shelves, fixtures, and equipment (without disturbing work areas)
• Clean glass doors, windows, and mirrors
• Shovel snow, salt walkways, and sweep sidewalks and entry areas as needed
• Report maintenance issues, low supplies, or safety concerns to the supervisor
• Follow all safety and security protocols
  

• Dependable, on-time, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Strong attention to detail — corners, baseboards, and behind things matter
• Comfortable working around a manufacturing environment
• Honest and trustworthy (this is non-negotiable given the nature of our work)
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus but not required
  

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (bending, standing, shoveling)
• Able to reliably commute to our Chicago facility near Midway Airport on Mon/Wed/Fri
• Must pass a pre-employment background check
