Role Overview
The Client Partner – Banking is a strategic, client-facing leadership role responsible for driving growth, strengthening executive relationships, and expanding Mastek’s footprint within the banking sector.
This role combines account management (“farming”) and business development (“hunting”), with a strong emphasis on identifying new opportunities, building sales pipelines, and delivering profitable growth.
You will act as a trusted advisor to banking clients, aligning Mastek’s digital and technology capabilities with client business objectives, while ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and long-term partnership success.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and grow strategic banking client relationships, ensuring long-term partnership success and satisfaction
- Develop and execute account expansion strategies to drive revenue growth and increase wallet share
- Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities within the banking sector
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline aligned with growth targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, cloud, data, digital, consulting) to deliver tailored solutions
- Provide industry insights and thought leadership on banking technology trends, including digital transformation and cloud adoption
- Drive upselling and cross-selling of Mastek’s service portfolio
- Oversee delivery governance and ensure seamless execution of services
- Manage financial performance including revenue, margins, forecasting, and P&L ownership
- Develop executive-level relationships and act as a strategic advisor to key stakeholders
- Lead proposal development, client presentations, and contract negotiations
- Stay informed on competitive landscape and emerging trends in banking and IT services
- Represent Mastek at industry events, conferences, and networking forums
Qualifications & Experience
- 10 years of experience in IT services sales and digital transformation, with a strong focus on banking clients
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets (e.g., $10M)
- Strong understanding of banking IT landscape, including enterprise applications, digital banking, and cloud transformation
- Experience in Digital Commerce is a plus
- Ability to hunt new business and farm existing accounts effectively
- Strong deal-closing skills with a history of managing complex, large-scale engagements
- Experience managing global delivery teams across technology and services
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and account profitability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially at the executive level
- Deep understanding of industry trends influencing technology investments in banking
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
