Fiber Technician – $23/Hour Paid Training

Position Details

Service Area: Fort Walton Beach, FL 32547 and nearby communities

Training Location: Pensacola, Florida 32506 (Hotel accommodations if distance qualified)

Training Start Date: September 21st

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour during training and after training (but will move to Piece Work Pay during Q4)

Key Responsibilities

• Install, route, and terminate fiber-optic cables in residential and outdoor environments
• Properly secure fiber lines following company guidelines and procedures
• Conduct testing to ensure network reliability and service quality
• Troubleshoot and correct signal or connectivity problems
• Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service work performed
• Provide excellent customer service during installations and support visits
• Collaborate with coworkers to complete projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule
• Follow all company policies and safety regulations at all times

Training Program

• Instructor-led classroom training focused on fiber-optic systems, safety practices, and equipment operation
• Practical field experience working alongside trained Fiber Technicians
• Opportunity to transition into a full-time Fiber Technician role supporting customers throughout the Fort Walton Beach area upon successful completion of training

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry between 60 and 80 pounds
• Comfortable working on ladders up to 36 feet high
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history
• Ability to successfully complete a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review
• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous fiber-optic experience is preferred, but not required
