The HR Generalist owns the operational execution of our People function. This role ensures our employees are supported, our systems are tight, and our processes run clean across the entire employee lifecycle. This position serves as a steady resource for employees and the work directly impacts compliance, culture, efficiency, and trust across the company.
Core ResponsibilitiesEmployee Support and Relationship Management- Serve as the primary resource for employee HR questions
- Provide clear guidance on policies, benefits, pay plans, and procedures
- Build trust across departments through responsiveness and follow-through
- Identify gaps and inefficiencies in HR workflows and implement improvements
- Strengthen onboarding speed, accuracy, and consistency
- Ensure payroll, benefits, compliance, onboarding, and performance processes run smoothly and no one is missed
- Track and analyze HR data to support informed decisions
- Own onboarding documentation and personnel file completion
- Maintain audit-ready employee files at all times
- Execute and track employment agreements and acknowledgments
- Activate and deactivate employees across multiple systems
- Administer benefits enrollment, waivers, and life events
- Manage time-off tracking and reporting
- Manage DOT tracking, drug testing coordination, and background checks
- Oversee unemployment claim responses
- Manage workers compensation documentation and communication
- Maintain handbook updates and required policy documentation
- Employee files are consistently complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Payroll, benefits enrollments, and system access are executed correctly and on time
- Onboarding runs smoothly and new hires experience a clean, organized start
- No compliance tracking gaps exist across DOT, drug testing, unemployment, or workers compensation
- Employee questions are answered quickly and accurately
- Leadership can rely on clean, organized HR data to understand trends and risks
- Processes become tighter and more efficient over time because you improved them
- As execution becomes strong and reliable, additional responsibilities and projects are delegated to this role and scope naturally expands
