Job Summary
The Rehm Laboratory in the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic candidate to join our research group.
Our research group at The Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is seeking a motivated candidate to provide support as a Genetic Counseling Assistant (GCA) to the Genomic Medicine Unit, the Preventive Genomics Clinic and other established clinics at MGH. This individual will work under the general direction of the Chief Genomics Officer with daily supervision provided by genetic counselors. The GCA will be responsible for genetic and administrative duties, with opportunities to participate in research as time allows. Individuals in this position will gain first-hand knowledge of patient care workflows related to the field of genetics spanning multiple subspecialties. This position may be ideal for someone considering a career in genetic counseling, or in another healthcare-related field.

Essential Functions
- Manages lists of established genetics patients and monitors status of pending clinical work-up.
- Reviews CMFM schedule for potential patients needing prenatal genetic visits.
- Serve as a liaison between referring providers and genetic counseling team.
- Develops, implements, and maintains cancer genetic counseling services.
- Works cross functionally with laboratories, genetic counselors, clinicians and others regarding testing, status updates, delays, referrals, and sample collection.
- Maintains a good working relationship with all clients.
- Assists with research studies and educational projects.
Education
