Inventory Clerk

Are you ready to join a dynamic team in a food distribution environment? Our client is seeking a dedicated 1st shift Inventory Clerk to become an integral part of their team.
Responsibilities of the Inventory Clerk
- Count merchandise in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
- Compare inventories to office records or computes figures from records such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory
- Verify returned product for accurate reason codes (mispicks, driver shorts, refusals) to ensure accounting reports reflect accurate data.
- Verify returned product is within temperature guidelines to maintain product integrity
- Process all documents (paper and digital) associated with returns and adjustments to customer orders to ensure inventory accuracy and customer invoice accuracy
- Inspect all product returned for appropriate disposition (saleable, damage/recuperation, damage/out of code dumps, etc) and ensure proper coding is applied.
- Execute end of day processes and reports, ensuring all discrepancies are researched and addressed.
- Work with drivers and transportation supervisors to address any issues and address training/retraining needs and process improvement opportunities.
Requirements of the Inventory Clerk
- HS Diploma/GED required
- Warehousing/Distribution experience preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and basic familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to tools used within the organization.
- Strong team player mentality.
- Self-motivation for working independently
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ownership and accountability for assigned duties.
Compensation/Benefits for the Inventory Clerk
$21.00 an hour
