Our client is looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Assistant in Greer SC to support the facility’s safety initiatives and waste management operations.
This is a temp-to-perm position; reliable candidates showing initiative and commitment may be considered for permanent placement and additional responsibilities
Starting Salary: $20 per hour based on experience
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily safety checks and log findings
- Assist with incident documentation and reporting
- Monitor PPE usage and inventory
- Support training sessions and compliance audits
- Help maintain safety boards, signage, and communication materials
- Assist with sorting, labeling, and staging of waste materials
- Monitor waste disposal schedules and vendor pickups
- Maintain logs for hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams
- Ensure proper containment and storage procedures are followed
- Support recycling and waste reduction initiatives
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments for supplies and services
- Maintain cleanliness and order in shared workspaces
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Prior experience in safety, environmental management, or facility operations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of waste sorting and disposal practices
- Comfort with physical tasks and light lifting
- Willingness to learn safety and environmental protocols
- Familiarity with safety signage and documentation tools
