Toolmaker/Moldmaker

Masis Professional Group is assisting our client in searching for a Direct Hire, Moldmaker/Toolmaker.

Our client is a leading provider of advanced injection molding solutions, specializing in custom plastic injection molding for complex parts across various high-demand sectors including medical, defense, alternative energy, and industrial applications.

The Moldmaker/Toolmaker will set up and operate a variety of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machines for the construction, repair and manufacturing of parts and Molds requiring high volume production and diverse machining operation. In this position you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools (precision grinders, milling machines, lathes etc.) to make metal parts, tools etc. to exacting specifications. Performs highly skilled fitting, interpret blueprints, sketches and engineering specs. Using a variety of machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments; make computations relating to dimension of work, tooling, feeds, etc.

Responsibilities of the Moldmaker/Toolmaker:

· Set up and operate Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines for high-volume parts production

· Work with computer functions relating to the design and programming areas of Moldmaking

· Work from concept drawing as well as fully detailed designs

· Assist on Mold Designs to improve production capabilities and ensure delivery time is met

· Troubleshoot Molding problems as required

· Ability to train CNC personnel and proficient with the operation of CNC equipment; Mazak and Makino graphite and hard mill

· Excellent mechanical ability

· Proficient with CAD programs – SolidWorks and Master Cam

· Proficient with CAM Programming, CNC 3 Axis Mill , Master Cam

· EDM RAM/Sinker Sodick , EDM Wire Sodick using Opticam, Grinding, Fitting, Building and troubleshooting plastic injection Molds

· Work with Design and Engineering in the development of Tooling

· Offer suggestions in order to manufacture the Tooling expeditiously and produce a quality product

· Assume role of Group Leader when required

· Work independently with minimum supervision

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 4-5 years of Moldmaking experience and or combined with Injection Mold, DFM, fixture design in SolidWorks

· Proficient in all areas of CNC Programming and Machining pertaining to the Moldmaking Process

· Proficient with setup and operation of CNC equipment

· Proficient with blueprints, good Math skills

· Proficient with CAD and CAM programs

· Must have good mechanical ability and be able to lift 75 lbs.

· Must have tools required to perform normal daily functions
