Position Overview
The Investment Operations Associate will partner with colleagues across investment, operational, and client-facing teams to support trading activity, portfolio maintenance, account onboarding, compliance-related processes, and reporting responsibilities. This role will contribute to day-to-day portfolio administration while helping ensure efficient and accurate operational execution. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-focused, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of investment decisions across client portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
- Assist with portfolio rebalancing activities, including cash management, drift monitoring, and portfolio maintenance.
- Apply account-specific investment guidelines, restrictions, and portfolio parameters across client accounts.
- Perform pre- and post-activity monitoring to support compliance with investment policies and account requirements.
- Maintain portfolio and account information within internal systems and third-party investment platforms.
- Research and resolve account, cash, position, and reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist with new account onboarding, account setup, and portfolio implementation activities.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc operational, portfolio, and management reports.
- Coordinate with investment, operations, compliance, and client support teams on account activity and strategic initiatives.
- Support workflow enhancements, process improvement efforts, automation projects, and operational documentation.
- Assist with performance, transaction, and portfolio-related reporting as needed.
- Contribute to maintaining high standards of operational accuracy, efficiency, and client service.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in investment operations, portfolio administration, trading support, financial services operations, or a related area.
- General understanding of investment products, portfolio management concepts, and investment operations workflows.
- Experience supporting investment-related operational processes and account administration activities.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred
- Experience supporting institutional, family office, wealth management, or investment management portfolios.
- Familiarity with portfolio accounting, investment management, trading, or financial reporting systems.
- Exposure to multi-asset, global, or multi-currency investment environments.
- Knowledge of sustainable, responsible, or ESG-related investment approaches.
- Experience with reporting platforms, databases, CRM systems, or portfolio management software.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, or similar technologies.
